Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Jacob Argubright experienced both the Highs and Lows of Racing at Round One of the AMA/NHHA Championship Series. Only two weeks into the racing year, things are looking up for the bright up and coming racer.
Saturday, before the festivities of the first round of racing got underway, Ron Purvines and Purvines Racing signed a one year contract to support Jacob Argubright for all of 2012. With high expectations and a full schedule of National events, Jacob Argubright is excited to have such a big sponsor on board. “Ron Purvines and I have been in talks for the last couple months. He has seen what I can do at both National Hare and Hound and Endurocross events, and he believes in me and my program. I am excited to be considered part of his team, and know that we will get him good results, as the year wears on.” A Native of Nevada, Purvines knows what it takes to win, and has been involved in the Off Road Racing world since Jacob was on mini bikes. “Jacob is one of the most talented riders we see out there today. I am excited to support him, and have him ride for the team. There is no doubt in my mind that he is a serious contender for the AMA Hare and Hound Championship. The team and I are honored to have him under the tent, and know that he will bring good results.” Unfortunately, after completing the first loop at Round One at fifth overall, Argubright crashed heading out onto loop two. The diagnosis is a Broken Collarbone, and Jake will undergo Surgery Wednesday afternoon to set the bone with a Rod. “I felt really good going out on loop two. I was setting David (Kamo) up to make a pass, and when I went off the trail I just hit a bush in his dust. I went down, and just caught my shoulder in the wrong place. “ The doctor’s report says that it is nothing too serious, and he should be able to get back to strength training approx 2 weeks after surgery. Jacob plans to make his return to the National Hare and Hound Series Sunday February 26th at Round Three in Reno, NV.
