jake-aid61-1After WORCS week in Washington, Kawasaki’s Destry Abbott returned home to hit the gym in hopes of another stellar performance in the Geico Endurocross Series. This time, however, he had an 18 year old to keep his hands full.

Jacob Argubright and Destry spent a week of intense workouts in the 100+ degree weather of Peoria, Az, in an attempt to prepare themselves for the harsh conditions that face them in Ok. The Monster Energy Kawasaki KX250F is their weapon of choice, and with such an intense field of competitors, is the only option if you want to run upfront.

jake-aid61-2Motocross, Endurocross, and even a trip to go rock climbing prepared the racers to have their physically abilities but to the test at round two of the 2009 Geico Endurocross Series. In addition to a spin class every morning, the racers spent time at the local Grindingstone MX racetrack on a specially prepared Endurocross practice track.

Both riders received invites into the night show on Saturday, and look to earn valuable points toward the coveted Endurocross National Championship. Round two of the series, is also Round One of the Geico Tripple Crown series of events, where victories at selected events could earn one lucky racer a $50,000 bonus.

Look for big names such as Taddy Blazuziak, Ricky Dietrick, and Mike Brown to show up and fight as the Largest Purse in Off Road Racing is awarded at each of the 6 Endurocross events.

Jake and Destry hope to improve on their showing at Vegas One, and will deffinately put on a show for the crowd. More info can be found at the Endurocross website. jacob911.com or destryabbott.com.
