After this last weekend, all I can say is I LOVE IDAHO! Seriously, everything about this weekend was as perfect as it could have ever been! I got to Tour the Pro Moto Billet/Fastway Factory, We had a big autograph signing at the ford dealership, the course was awesome and full of water and snow everywhere, AND I FINISHED SECOND OVERALL AT A NATIONAL HARE AND HOUND!

NHHA_Rd_3_1Round three of the National Hare and Hound Series was this last weekend in El Centro, and for me it was all about Redemption!  I needed to make up for what happened last year in the mud, and I needed to keep the strong finishes alive in order to stay with the lead pack in the points chase.

We have had a few weird curveballs thrown this year, with Kurt nearly DNFing and Kendall actually DNFing at round one, so the points are tighter than ever and I am going to do everything I physically can to stay within reach. I was pretty disappointed with the 5th at round 2, and knew that with a good start I could make things happen here in El Centro.

Round two of the National Hare and Hound Series was this last weekend, and after a great start to the 2011 season, I was eager to have another shot at the podium. Things aren’t going to be easy this year in he NHHA series, as we have about 6 guys who could easily run up front on any day, and as I would learn at Round Two, I was going to have to be on top of my game to be up there with them.
The start was a little bit overgrown, and I really couldn’t pick a good line on Saturday. We decided to just get the morning come, and select a line that was as far from the rest of the fast guys as possible- I won’t be doing that again!
My line ended up being pretty good, but the overgrowth of bushes really made my overall speed suffer. I worked it in pretty good pre race, and packed my line down hoping to get a good solid start, and from there it was just up to me and the bike to get to the front before the banners.
My start was way right, and I settled in behind Destry about half way down the bomb. I did get a 1st kick, so my jump off the line was good, but I just had to go further than he did and ultimately got stuck in his dust. Kendall and David Pearson led off the start, but they were way left and didn’t go through the banners like Destry and I did, I felt like that too might have been a huge advantage for them.

This last weekend my family and I headed up to Taft for Round One of the Big 6 Grand Prix Series.  I am going to miss most of these rounds this year, so it was really just more for fun but it ended up being a great weekend!

Check this out to see a few photos by Shane Sands from www.ridevector.com!
